A Guide to Being a Winner

A Guide to Being a Winner

I've been in this business for years, long enough to see people fail or succeed and draw my own conclusions as to why. I have friends who made fortunes in this business and others who basically flopped and played with IM like a hobby.

Everyone wants to be a winner, but what does that really take?

There's plenty of methods and business models out there that can make you rich. So why aren't people getting rich in this business? It's not the methods, no, instead it's how they are implemented. Today I am going to address why this happens and how you can avoid it.

Gurus Want To Teach You Their Methods And You Fail In Return

See folks, people have figured out you can make money by making money. It's the icing on the cake for some. If I have a method that makes me a $100 a day and I sell you that blueprint for $1000 then I make money because I make money online, cool right?

Why would someone be willing to reveal such secrets?

Ah there's the question skeptics ask, rightfully so. Mainly for two reasons. First, they fabricated the whole scenario and now bank on the lie OR they know you don't have what it takes to make it happen and compete with them. That's usually it for the guys who do make money.

Neil Patel is a nice guy right? I'm sure he is. However, can't we all agree MOST of the people reading this article will not be able to implement his case studies because they don't have a huge writing team pen in hand ready to rock a blog?

Of course we can! Neil could teach you exactly how to do what he does but unless you have financial backing you can forget about competing directly with him. It's the ugly truth. So the context in which these guys display success is typically light hearted, when in reality its not easy! That's why a lot of newcomers imitate and get disheartened.

So What Can You Do To Actually Make Money Online?

That depends on how much money you have. Private equity firms buy companies and make money online instantly, usually taking them into new directions. People with deep pockets saturate YouTube with cool car videos of success and build a fast brand.

But that's not you is it? You're probably working a 9-5 right now busting your ass wondering how you will make a transition into an online business model. That was most of us at one time. So why aren't a lot of the guides for most of us?

I want to get you through this guide as fast as possible so you can get to making money instead of reading. Below is a list of traits you need to follow when starting your first business online. It's the nature of people who have success. A few I learned as I went while others I knew.

Find Information Sources & Cut The Distractions

Holy shit, this has to be a HUGE problem for new people. They get entranced into the Skype groups, commentary on social media, and have what I call Information overload.. So they hop from idea to idea like a horny rabbit.

All these things are the pillars for losers or luxuries of those who have delegated work. When you first start out you don't need any of it. Find your favorite information sources, lay out a plan, and shut down the distractions.

Buy A Whiteboard And Plan Out Your Daily Routine

If you want to make big money you need some big plans. Personally, the first step of implementation for me is writing a plan down and setting a date of delivery. Hey this stuff can get complex for a noob brain. Everything in this business is multi-threaded.

By that I mean you need social accounts, software, funnel building, email list, auto responders, content (Shit loads.) and all of it needs to work in an order that makes you money. How can you process all that without writing down some simple first steps? Do it!

The items I mentioned above is required for basically any business or method you do. If you can't organize your plans and information, then you will not be able to build a business.

Tip: Trello is a nice way to organize projects, task, and when you grow, teams.

Put All Of Your Eggs Into One Basket Until You Can Buy More Baskets

One of my favorite business persons "a true pioneer" Andrew Carnegie one time said "The way to become rich is to put all your eggs in one basket and then watch that basket..." In many ways he is right, and I have found a slight modification that works exceedingly well for online ventures.

Put all of your eggs into one basket until you can buy more baskets..

That's the best way I can describe how you should build your first business. See, starting out you have limited resources, not much time to spare, and too much noise in your brain. Most methods and businesses can make you big league dollars, but not unless you stick with one and perfect it.

Those same guys we talked about earlier know you will probably hit it hard and after 3 weeks of not making money give up and let them have the industry to themselves. They also know it's going to take a bit of money to get going. That's why when you're the little guy you have to specialize.

What industries can make you big $$$ today?

Drop shipping is a goldmine when you learn how.
SaaS is a quick income producer if you know programming.
Affiliate marketing (Huge business model. I could go on and on.)
Service sector businesses (Content writing is a nice first one.)

The point is almost everything can make you money if you have the means and will to pursue it in its entirety. Sometimes we scoff at guys who think they will make big bucks in the adult industry, and sometimes they prove us wrong even in an extremely saturated industry with terrible monetization options. (Most guys are done in 5 min and don't need HD subscriptions.) ;)

I have friends from 2013 who still don't make money online even though they always shared some great ideas with me over the years. The reason is because they didn't fully commit to any of it and just entered a lot of it, thus resulting in nothing but mediocrity.

Pick one thing. Do it better than anyone else.

I always think back when my Dad was teaching me how to fish. A lot of naysayers would comment that the fish weren't biting or there's no fish in that water. He would always say Bullshit and even if it took everything in the tackle box he would find something that worked.

That's business!

You have to try it all in one central pursuit before you move on. If it's your aim to be a Social Media wiz and drive traffic into an offer from groups or tweets, then do it until it works for you. If the response isn't what you wanted, try poking it differently.

PPC Vs. Organic "This Is The Only Thing You Need To Know Noob"

Go organic first both in social media and search. I'm sure you have seen dozens of Udemy courses showing you that for a couple of dollars you are on the way to great pay per click traffic that will turn the whole system into a money machine. Insert bills, and more come out.

That is so far from the truth it pains me.

I have a friend, a really good guy, we met on this forum and in person. He is a social media giant. This guy will not mess with you unless you have a $10,000 budget and he offers his expertise to some of the biggest names in Affiliate marketing.

We were friends before I knew what he really did.

Anyway, he helped me tie up some loose connections I had with social media PPC. Still, it took me $1,500 in testing ad copies and funnels before I really started making money. Now remember, I had this guy as my right hand. Imagine if you were doing it blindly?

Big affiliates have TEAMS and they spend tens of thousands testing offers before they ever really pour the cash into them. A lot of people starting out will blow through what little savings they have, learn nothing, make no money, and go back to the 9-5 with their tails tightly tucked.

Organic is slower but it gives you a chance to test test test without pouring cash into a black hole. It also creates a recurring foundation that stabilizes your business before you leap into a more volatile market like PPC funnels where products are hot or not.

Go with Organic until you have some money to test with. Tools to automate social organic reach are very cheap. Most of them you can subscribe to for under $30 a month. Don't get me wrong I love both organic and PPC. I know people making $XXX,XXX a week with Affiliate marketing.

Start Building Your List Today Or You Will Regret It

Whatever business model or industry you choose online will ultimately come down to one sole factor before you make money. Can you effectively drive niche quality traffic? Once you can do that it's a cake walk from there. At that point you play with offers and proposals.

I use GetResponse currently because I love their intuitive auto responders.

Whatever niche, build a list. See as an affiliate if you directly send a customer to the product owner or network that person becomes their customer and immediately ceases being yours. Always work on collectively building an email list.

That way you create a recurring traffic source that's essentially free once you attain the data. You can also use the data to create custom audiences when you start implementing PPC into your online business model. It's the bones of a successful operation.

Never Think Of Yourself As Average

Some people will go their whole lives looking at winners and separating themselves from that pack psychologically. They create a divide. Well he is >Insert Expert< so of course he makes money online.. Or I don't have the startup funds that guys had so of course I can't....

People who think of themselves as average will always be just that, average.

If you don't place value in yourself as a product, then who will? I'm going to pull a quote from one of the great late philosophers Friedrich Nietzsche.

When you put yourself into the class of the Have not's. and just idolize the Haves. in business you already lose the greatness you could have shaped yourself into.

Now Let Me Leave You With This To Keep In Mind

There's an energy to success. A momentum like you wouldn't even imagine. If your smart with little victories, then they can manifest themselves into much larger ones. First you have to get the ball to rolling and once you do, it picks up speed as you go.

Finally, you can forget about luck or privilege. Those are the excuses of losers. A great Golfer by the name of Gary Player once said The More I practice the luckier I get... How true! Never get jealous of success around you. Often times surrounding yourself with the successful will teach you many things.

So if you're that Dad, Mom, young person, or even senior looking to make a difference in your life with this industry just know that when you apply this guide to the methods you find online you will drastically increase your chances of earning a great newfound freedom.
